What is a vehicle inspection?
- A vehicle inspection is done every few years to make sure that the vehicle is following safety/traffic guidelines. In New Jersey, vehicles are inspected every two years unless it is a new car, which is to be inspected every five years.
- To check when you should get your vehicle inspected, look at the inspection sticker on your windshield. There will be an expiration date on it, and you may get your vehicle inspected up to two months before the expiration date on the sticker.
- There are multiple ways to get your vehicle inspected at a station. Some stations will let you make an appointment online. Others will have wait times, or you can visit a private facility.
